1 · Act
Register a cleanup, get a kit and take action: on your own, with your team, your school or your club.
2 · Measure
What is collected and who takes part is recorded. This is the basis for every result.
3 · Prove
Organisations are assessed by the WCI in the WCRI and listed on the public WCRI Register. Individual and group engagement is shown through badges based on the WCRI.
4 · Reinvest
Results and insights flow back into education, the next actions and better materials.
It starts with a single bag: people register a cleanup and receive a kit. Their engagement becomes visible through badges based on the World Cleanup Responsibility Index (WCRI); organisations are assessed by the WCI under the published WCRI methodology. Digital product passports will make the materials we use traceable. Panels, the Startup Mentor Stage, a podcast and a travelling exhibition turn action into knowledge and dialogue. Partner initiatives such as Team World Cleanup bring the idea into sport and inclusion.

Hosts of the stage
The Startup Mentor Stages are hosted by the BCBT co-founders Hon.-Prof. Holger Holland and Hon.-Prof. Dr. Valdrin Dervishaj. Valdrin Dervishaj moderates the conversations on stage and co-signs the pitch certificates.

The book: Wir schaffen Zukunft

Wir schaffen Zukunft. Standort Deutschland – nachhaltig erfolgreich is part of the We Create Future initiative. In the book, 15 companies show how they put sustainability into practice: credibly, with courage and close to everyday business, including how they deal with mistakes and build a culture that carries change. The book also covers the regulatory framework such as CSRD, the EU Taxonomy and the German Supply Chain Act, with tools and practical tips for others to follow.
Authors: Anabel Ternès von Hattburg, Lisa Aigner, Holger Holland, Katja Werner and Maxi Martiskowa, who joined the author team later. Published by Vahlen, 2025, 247 pages, ISBN 978-3-8006-7669-9.
